About us

Thanks to its unique location at the confluence of the Willebroek Canal and the Scheldt, the acquisition of Intershipping NV fits in wonderfully well with the vertical integration strategy of the Willy Naessens Group. Intershipping has a 23 ha corporate surface area and a 280 m discharging quay, at which vessels of up to 10,000 tonnes and draughts of 9.5 m can moor. All of this makes Intershipping the perfect partner for the storage and transshipment of bulk goods and mixed cargo and waterside transport activities. In addition to the treatment and storage of raw materials for production companies within the Group, Intershipping and its activities service companies that want to process supplied goods at the site.

Furthermore, Intershipping has ultramodern production facilities for the production of prestressed concrete floor elements. These floor elements are applied in industrial and (non-)residential construction. With an annual capacity of more than 300,000 m², this company ranks among the major players in this market segment. In addition to serving the Belgian market, a considerable part of the production is destined for the Netherlands.

Intershipping achieves silver CSC certificate

The Concrete Sustainability Council certificate (CSC) is an international guideline for the socially responsible production of cement, aggregates and concrete.

By obtaining this certificate, Intershipping strengthens its reputation as a reliable and safe employer and sets itself apart from other players in the sector. Among other things, the certificate confirms compliance with local laws and regulations, safety and health regulations, and monitoring and continuous improvement of the quality of products and services. With this certificate, Intershipping contributes to maintaining the company's integrity and good relationship with stakeholders.

Policy to avoid national or internationally significant sites

As a company, Intershipping is committed to adhering to the highest standards of integrity and responsibility. Intershipping recognises that avoiding nationally or internationally significant sites is critical to avoid contributing to conflict or unethical behaviour

Climate policy

As a company, Intershipping is aware of the challenges posed by climate change and wants to do its part to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Intershipping contributes to the build group's goal of reducing its CO2-emissions with 2.5 % per year.

  • Measurement: Intershipping will regularly measure and track GHG emissions to determine how much GHG they emit and where these emissions occur.
  • Reporting: Intershipping will report GHG emissions annually and make this information publicly available so that stakeholders are aware of our efforts to reduce GHG emissions.
  • Reduction: Intershipping will set targets to reduce GHG emissions and will take measures to achieve these targets. This can be done, for example, by introducing energy-efficient technologies, reducing the use of fossil fuels and investing in renewable energy sources.
  • Monitoring: Intershipping will regularly monitor and adjust its efforts to reduce GHG emissions if necessary to ensure that it achieves these targets.

Intershipping believes that adhering to this policy will help reduce our carbon footprint and preserve a sustainable future for us all.
